December Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of December… Leah.

Leah has been with the An Answered Prayer Family for seven years. She’s originally from Dayton and still resides in the area with her family. Outside of work she loves to spend her time with her fiancé Justin, her three sons, Marc, Beau, and Bradley, and their two dogs, Deisel, and Zina.

When asked her favorite part about being a caregiver, Leah said “…being able to help someone live their best life.” Her advice for new caregivers is “…have patience with your clients.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Leah said “…caregiving means everything. My father gets to be at home instead of in a nursing home because of it.” Her favorite memory was getting to take him to all the different car shows.

Leah’s favorite food is chicken wings, her favorite type of music is Country Rap, and she has too many favorite movies to count. A fun fact about is that she adores her children, animals, and job.

We’re so thankful for the dedicated individuals that are apart of our team like Leah. They make the world a better place for so many people, keep up the great work Leah!

November Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured Caregiver for the month of November… Justine!

Justine has been with the An Answered Prayer family for 10 years! She’s originally from Pittsburgh and still resides in the area with her family. She loves spending her time outside of work taking care of her grandkids.

When we asked her what her favorite part about being a caregiver is, she said “…taking care of clients and showing them love.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…do your job and treat people like you want to be treated.” When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…helping and caring for one another.” Her favorite memory with a client was taking them to Kennywood for the company picnic.

Justine’s favorite type of food is chicken, her favorite type of music is R&B Old School, and her favorite movie is Pretty Woman. A random fun fact about her is that she simply loves to see other people happy.

We’re so thankful for the kind and loving caregivers apart of our family like Justine, they’re the heartbeat of our company. Keep up the great work!

October Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of October…Jamara!

Jamara has been with the An Answered Prayer family for six years and is originally from Pittsburgh but currently resides in Wilkinsburg with her family. Outside of work she loves to spend her time with her four children.

When we asked her what her favorite part about being a caregiver is, she said “…being my client’s companion.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…be genuine…care for other’s feelings… and be patient.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Jamara said “…being able to be trusted and dependable.” Her favorite memory with a client is one time when she took her client to adopt her dog Gucci.

Jamara’s favorite type of food is steak, her favorite type of music is Rhythm and Blues, and her favorite movie is Step Brothers. A fun fact about Jamara is that she loves virtual reality games.

September Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of September…Dawn!

Dawn has been with the An Answered Prayer Family for six months. She’s originally from Monessen, but currently resides in Charleroi with her family. She has two daughters and eight grandchildren; she spends most of her time outside of work hanging with them!

Dawn’s favorite part of being a caregiver is “…. making sure people experience the best quality of life possible given their circumstances.” Her advice for other caregivers is simple “…just care.” Her favorite memory with a client was “…getting to take care of my mother in her last days.”

Dawn’s favorite type of music is R&B, her favorite movie is Creed 3, and her favorite type of food is Pasta. A fun fact about her is that she can’t whisper.

We’re so thankful for the loving caregivers who make up our caregiving team. It’s their unique skills and humungous hearts that make for the best possible care for your loved ones. Keep up the great work Dawn!

August Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of August… Rayonda!

Rayonda has been with the An Answered Prayer family for eight years, and she’s originally from Pittsburgh and still resides in the area. Outside of work she enjoys spending most of her time with her family. Her favorite type of music is R&B, favorite movie is Pretty Woman, and her favorite type of food is any kind of chicken. A fun fact about Rayonda is that she loves to sing!

When we asked what her favorite part about being a caregiver is, she said “…helping the clients achieve their daily goals.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…make sure you treat the clients the way you would want to be treated.” When asked what caregiving means to her, she said “…getting to be an everyday hero.” Her favorite memory with a client is “…when we went to the White House and took pictures at the African American Black History Museum.”

We’re so thankful for the caregivers that pour their heart and soul into their job day in and day out. Keep up the great work Rayonda!

July Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of July… Valerie!

Valerie has been with the An Answered Prayer Family for three years. She’s originally from Pittsburgh but currently resides in Monroeville with her family. Outside of work, she enjoys spending as much time with family as possible, especially her one grandchild. She also enjoys worshipping at church!

When asked what her favorite part of being a caregiver is, Valerie said “…helping someone else find pleasure in life.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…try building a good and trusting relationship with the ones you work with… try to be grateful and calm every day… and also treat people the way you’d want to be treated.” When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…showing love…by the way you take care of them and meet their needs.” Her favorite memory with a client was “…taking a client to a doctor’s appointment. Even though it was a serious moment, we were able to have a few good laughs.”

Valerie’s favorite food is chicken fried rice, her favorite types of music are Gospel, Jazz, and Old School, and her favorite movie is Matilda. A random fun fact about Valerie is that she can be really silly! We’re so thankful for the loving and patient caregivers that make up our staff like Valerie. Keep up the great work!

May Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of May…Airiel!

Airiel has been with the Answered Prayer family for almost four years. She’s originally from Pittsburgh but currently resides in McKeesport with her family. She has four children and loves to spend her time outside of work being a “fun mom.”

Her favorite part about being a caregiver is “…knowing that what I do is making a difference in someone else’s life.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…Love what you do and it will never feel like work!” When asked what caregiving means to her, she said “…Everything! I love helping others.” Her favorite memory with a client is when “…the client started dancing once day while I was cleaning with the music playing.”

Airiel’s favorite food is fish, her favorite type of music is Reggae, and her favorite movie is Gone in 60 Seconds. A random fun fact about Airiel is that she loves to make homemade hair products.

Airiel is the definition of going beyond the call of duty. She was nominated by her manager for the outstanding care she provides for her clients, and we are so glad to have her be a part of our team. Keep up the great work Airiel!

April Featured Caregiver

Meet our featured caregiver for the month of April, Jamara!

Jamara has been with the An Answered Prayer family for six years and is originally from Pittsburgh but currently resides in Wilkinsburg. She loves spending time with her three children and she’s currently in the process of adopting another! Her favorite food is pasta, favorite type of music is R&B, and favorite movie is John Wick. A fun fact about her is that she loves to dance!

Her favorite part about being a professional caregiver is the client she gets to take care of is her own mother! Her advice for other caregivers is very simple “…work hard.” When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…doing right by the client, being considerate of their privacy, making sure they’re up to date with their doctors appointments, and making sure their environment is clean.” Her favorite memory is getting to go to Kennywood every summer!

We’re so thankful for the dedicated and king caregivers that are a part of our team. Constantly giving of themselves and always going above and beyond. Keep up the great work Jamara!

March Featured Caregiver

Meet our very first Featured Caregiver of the Month, Marcella!

Marcella has been with the An Answered Prayer Family for six years! She’s originally from Penn Hills and still resides in the area with her family. She has two children and numerous grandchildren. Marcella’s manager recommended her for this award because “…She is dedicated, committed, and always willing to learn or try something new that would improve things for the client.”

When we asked Marcella what her favorite part of being a caregiver is, she said “…Getting to help my sister be successful each day and getting to watch her improve. It brings joy to my heart knowing someone else is satisfied with the help you’re offering.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…Be on time. Enjoy making the world a better place and do what you can.”

Outside of work, Marcella enjoys the library, going to museums, and taking her sister to the flea market. Her favorite food is coleslaw, favorite movie is The Color Purple, and her favorite types of music are Gospel and Stephanie Mills. A random fun fact about Marcella is that she’s actually a very good comedian!
