Having a caregiver in your home or the home of your loved one — bathing them, helping them get dressed, preparing their meals — is an incredibly intimate relationship, and it’s important to us that we find a caregiver who understands and respects this special responsibility.
You can be confident that your An Answered Prayer caregiver is trustworthy and has only the best interests at heart. Many of the people we employ have been providing senior care for decades, and some are Certified Nursing Assistants. Many also hold Home Health Aid (HHA) certifications, and we offer an incentive to caregivers who secure their HHA certification.
Every single one of our caregivers…
- Has cleared a background check.
- Has been tested for tuberculosis, a highly communicable and dangerous disease, as required by Pennsylvania law and recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control for all health care workers.
- Is knowledgeable and continually trained in HIPAA medical privacy compliance.
Ongoing Training for Caregivers
Continuing education for those providing home care ensures that caregivers have the most up-to-date information and skills to care for their clients. Initial training for each caregiver is designed on an individual basis depending on the client’s needs. For example, if our client needs to be moved into special lifting equipment for transfer between a bed and wheelchair, we ensure that the caregiver understands the proper procedure and safety considerations for such a transfer.
All An Answered Prayer caregivers must complete annual training that covers a variety of topics. Additionally, we host quarterly in-person training sessions to foster more intensive training and allow our caregivers the opportunity to connect, talk, and share best practices.
We also provide training for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, which ensures that caregivers understand their legal obligation to maintain client privacy.
